I've been give an estimate of $274 for post and core and about $1,280 for the porcelain crown on tooth #32: is that a "normal" price?
How much does a post and core on tooth #32 costs? And how much for the porcelain veneer crown, on tooth #32?
Usually most people would just extract a wisdom tooth before putting that much money in it unless your missing other teeth. Was that an option? A post in our office is $185 and a crown is $850 and a veneer is $900, there isnt a veneer crown, it's one or the other. I'm guess it's a crown since it's a back tooth and your have a post done. I would look around because those prices seem high, but depending on where you live. The reason people usually extract the wisdom teeth is because they have a faster decay rate than any other teeth in your mouth. And if it already needs a post and crown that means it has had a large area of decay already. I would really reconsider this decision unless like I said before your missing another lower right tooth and this is taking its place. Thanks
Reply:Are you sure it is #32. 32 is a wisdom tooth and most people just pull the sucker and leave it at that.
Reply:There is no such thing as a porcelain veneer crown.. it's either a porcelain veneer, which I doubt since it's your wisdom tooth, or a crown. We have a few patients who have their wisdom teeth crowned; it isn't uncommon.
The fees in our office are:
Post and Core~ $185
Crown~ $886
Shop around, your quoted fees seem a bit high.
