Porcelain veneer users please?

I am wanting to get veeners and would like to know basic info on them please: how durable are they, do they stain easily. cost, upkeep, etc. I am thinking about going to Costa Rica to save money. Can anyone can recommend a dentist from CR or have thoughts about that?

Veneers are great. Very durable (though my husband did finally have one come off after 10 years...easy to put back on if you still have the veneer.) Fairly stain resistant and virtually no upkeep (he doesn't even have to brush his teeth, only for social acceptance!)

I would shy away from leaving the country to do this. With a procedure as significant as this, you'll want your doctor to be local in case you have any needs/questions/issues. Oh, and then you'll know they are licensed, too.

Don't take a chance on your health for the sake of vanity. If this means waiting a little longer to save $$$ to do it locally...please do that.
Reply:Any non-third world country can have dentists providing excellent care. The only question I would ask is, how in the world are you going to find out which dentist in any foreign country is right for you? It's hard enough for people to find a good dentist in their own neighborhood where they can get recommendations from friends and co-workers. What are you going to do if you have trouble with your dental services six months after you return to the states?
