Can you get porcelain veneers done on your lower teeth?

If so which ones, or is better to get caps? How long to veneers or caps last? How much do they cost approx per tooth? I am from Canada. I really hate my teeth and want to get them done.

Can you get porcelain veneers done on your lower teeth?
Yes. If you wanted to you could put them on all your teeth. People usually use them for the facial teeth for estethic reasons(to look good). There are no hared and fast rules aout how long you can expect porcelain eneers to last. You can certainly expect that they will remain cosmetically pleasing and structurally sound for many years, but it is unrealistic to expect taht they will a last forever. With good home care and by exercising good judgment, a porcelain veneer could last well in excess of over ten years(same with a cap/crown). As far as cost goes i'd call several dentist and compare prices.
Reply:i think so but i dont know the cost.
Reply:If you want them for a physical reason (cracked tooth or something like that) the dentist should decide if you should have veneers or crowns (both are possible for lower teeth). If you are doing it for looks, then there are some things to consider. There are some veneers available now that don't require any tooth prep. This is great because it's reversible. Other kinds of veneers and crowns require part of the tooth to be removed. This means that once the tooth is done, you can't go back and they don't last forever. Crowns generally last longer than veneers but even veneers can last a long time - I had some for 20 years before having to replace them. In the US, you are much more likely to have a crown covered by dental insurance (if you have it). Either can cost around $800 - $1200 each in the US - I have no idea in Canada.

Hope that helps a little. Good luck!
