Porcelain Veneers : What does it mean to....?

What does it mean to remove some of the enamel or whatever for the veneers? o.O

Porcelain Veneers : What does it mean to....?
A dentist must go in and "drill away" some of the top surface of your teeth. For this reason, it is only recommended in more severe situations because it is never highly recommended to remove healthy tooth structure if you dont need to.

If you decide you would like them for cosmetics, then they will drill away the front part of your teeth and take an impression, then they have a lab make the porcelain veneers and they bring you back in and cement it to your tooth (it takes place of the part that they drilled away). That way they can easily change the color and shape of your teeth, and make them brighter and more beautiful.

Just remember that those things can eventually fall off (not common but it does happen) and the tooth under the crown isn't the prettiest, so be ready if that ever happens and get back to the dentist so they can put it back on for you.

Good luck!
Reply:they grind off the outside of your teeth a little to fit the cover "veneer" on the tooth.
